What can Suno Do?
Suno is an AI music generator that creates entire songs based on short text descriptions—including lyrics, melody, and arrangement. Users with a free account have access to the latest Version 4—but only for ten songs per day. After that, you have to settle for Version 3.5 which is sufficient for testing purposes. Suno offers two options for generating a song: “Suno Simple” and “Suno Custom.” In the “Suno Simple” version, a short description of up to 239 characters is enough. This description can be generated based on our idea using a Copilot prompt:

Copilot response:

Simply paste this into Suno, switch from “v3.5” to “v4” at the top, and two different versions of the song will be generated.
After about two minutes, the lyrics are generated, and both song versions are ready to listen to.

The slightly shorter 2:41-minute version is a calm song that comes across as almost melancholic. That doesn’t quite fit the upbeat summer song we originally wanted to generate.
It’s different with the second song, which is six seconds longer. Here, the verses are more energetic, and the chorus expresses nostalgic longing. Neither song fully delivers the “feel-good vibe,” but the vocals and instrumental accompaniment are of very high quality.
With “Suno Custom”, there are even more fine-tuning options to perfect the summer song. Let’s try out this mode.
Suno Custom: More Control with Your Own Lyrics and Style
Unlike “Suno Simple,” with “Suno Custom,” you can input your own lyrics, song title, and genre keywords. Copilot can once again help generate suitable lyrics for Suno and revise them if needed.

The third step to the perfect song is using Suno’s “Remix/Edit” function. This allows you to revise an already generated song:

The style tags are changed to: “euphoria, festival, powerful beats.” The result: Fantastic—the shift in mood within the lyrics from excitement about summer in the first verses to its end in the final verse is beautifully captured.

Yes—absolutely, especially when used together with other AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot. The free version already offers many options for experimenting. Anyone wanting more should upgrade to the Pro Plan to avoid waiting for the daily limit reset on V4 access. The quality difference between V3.5 and V4 is clearly noticeable with Suno.
One downside: When downloading a song, Suno offers the option to automatically create a matching video for the song. Unfortunately, this did not work in our test. Possibly, the video generation function is only available to Pro users. We will definitely check this as part of our review of Suno’s Pro version—an update will follow!
